kz1000 ltd b4 1980. I have been searching around in the archives and found some good info but am hoping someone who has good info to cut to the chase and save some learn as i go errors. thanks for looking/or helping...paul

how radical are you wanting to get -improved handling,braking or are you just looking for something differant?there are lots of ways of improving whats already there without alot of modification ;)

nothing radical, exactly that, some improved handling and braking, also a updated set of forks would provide a front fender that could go along with the paint scheme.

I used a set of forks from a mid-80's Ninja 900,Like the one that Tom Cruise rode in Top Gun. I used the complete front end including the triple trees and clip-ons. Roy

You need to change the bearings. It had to lower the bike. I never measured. I also used the rear swingarm and wheels. the bike rides nice and handles good. Roy

I used a 1991 gsxr 1100 for my 79 ltd it only needed a bearing conversion, got the bearings from allballs, worked great


1979 KZ1000 drag/street fighter
1015cc stock internals for now, 39 flattys, GSXR frontend, ZX9 rear wheel with 6 over chromoly arm, just a budget beater!
