I don't think i have a pic of the bike any more. They are on the hard drive of my fried computer.

All i had to do to the swingarm is remove 3/4 inch off each side of the front of the swingarm.

If i had to to over again i would leave the mono shock off and have two mounting brackets for shocks welded to the swingarm. Roy

Type "fork swap" in the box that says "Search Function" in the top right hand corner. I just got 439 results. I'm swapping to newer forks on my 'Stripfighter project but it's not done yet so I haven't road tested it.

I'm in the same place, ds390ss123. I want to make the change and even picked up a complete 2006 Gixxer 1000 front end, but time has kept me from going further. I keep looking for someone in the SoCal area that has done a swap to call on for advice, but haven't found one yet.

I did here that turning radius is shortened on the Gixxer swap if you don't fab your own trees... and who does?

I am also investigating the FZR front end swap to stay with conventional forks.

I am still investigating the whole route I am taking with the bike. The fellow at redlinecycles has made some strong points against the swap thing. I have NOT ruled it out yet. I am looking for more info and hope to make informed choice soon. One other thing I need to explore is some custom set-up, problem- big $, but this is not ruled out either. Got a cool paint scheme getting worked on now. I am very excited about this project and hope to share my "fun" with you guys as it progresses. thanks...paul

I checked out a 77 KZ1000 with GSXR1000 front end and GS1100E dual shock swingarm last weekend.

Definitely had a turning problem, the guy made stops to keep the fork tubes from hitting the tank, and you aren't going to make any sharp turns with it

As usual Steel has a point there. Turning radius may become rediculous as it is in mine with a GSXR USD front and GSXR swing. Radisu becomes bigger due to fatter fork tubes and smaller off-set on tripples. But this is only inconvenient; makes handling on parkin lots, carage more intrestingOthewise swapping is not too difficult, making all brackets and fitting all needed parts is the issue.

The picture was on photo bucket. With work slowing down maybe i will get something done. I am at the point of wiring the bike. I have the ignition wired and need to wire the lights. Then tear the bike down and clean up the welds and paint the frame and reassemble.

This is a red neck conversion. I had to make all the rear brake brackets and the shifter linkage.

The bike still has the same wheelbase. Roy

OK!! Here is where I am at. Got 1999 zr-7 front end dry fitted on the bike. Used allballs for the bearings and stock zr-7 seals worked well. I do need to weld some stops on the frame but it seem its not going to be a problem at all.
