Regulator rectifier wiring

I'm confused as to how I wire the brown wire on the regulator/rectifier. I have the 3 yellows hooked up to the stator, black/gel to ground, red/white to permanent 12v source, and then the brown... so I understand the brown gets switched 12v but where exactly does it need to tie into? I plan on using a ganged fused block with the bike under the seat in an electronics tray. The fuse block will get power when the ignition key is on (the key is aftermarket, 12v in to one wire, turn key on and 12v out the other. Not that this really matters). Anyways, can I just wire the brown sense wire to the same terminal as the wire going into the fuse block? This way it gets it's switched 12v. I plan to wire the ignition circuit through the fuse block addition to the lights, horn, etc. as well. Thanks for the help!

Yes the brown needs to be hooked into the "ignition live" circuit (unless you switch to a 5 wire R/R then you don't need to worry about it)
How many fuses are you going to use ?
What is the current rating of the switch you are using ?

The switch is rated for 75 amps. Lil bit overkill... but hey if it works it works. Everything will go through a 30a main fuse (solenoid has one built in). Solenoid has 2 hots coming out of it, one will go to the R/R and the other will go to the key switch, which will supply 12v to the terminal block with 4 fuses

Solenoid has 2 hots coming out of it, one will go to the R/R and the other will go to the key switch, which will supply 12v to the terminal block with 4 fuses  That should work just fine, when sizing your fuses calculate total load on the circuit - add 10% then go to the next nearest available fuse (EG: total load + 10% = 9 amps - use a 10 amp fuse) the brown from your R/R just needs to hook into the "ignition live" output from one of the fuses :)

I just deleted it and capped it off. It can serve as a switched accessory tap.

Steve I believe he is talking about the brown coming from the R/R (OEM 6 wire R/R)

So you say the brown wire on the R/R should be hooked into the ignition live of one of the fuses... the fuse block has a lug for 12v into it, would wiring the brown here be okay then or should I wire it to the output of the fuse I will use for my ignition circuit (coils, IC, etc)

If that's the case it needs to be connected to the brown wire coming out of the loom. That wire is tapped for the brake light warning switch among other things. It's said to be a sense wire for the regulator.

It's always best to ensure that as much as possible is protected by fuses (I know this is protected by the "main" fuse but at 30 amps it rated higher than some of the cables) Trapped or chaffed unfused wires start fires !!!!

Awesome thanks for the help. So essentially the sense wire can be wired anywhere receiving switched 12v power, thus if I did want to wire it directly to the main 12v power in lug of the fuse block that would work? Obviously going this route I'd have an inline fuse on the sense wire.
