Starter tech specs
01 Mar 2025 08:59
Good morning all! Would anyone have any specs on a Mitsuba SM223 starter? Need the tolerance specs for the armature (allowable up and down movement) as the shims are pretty beat up/smashed in and to me there's too much play. Also type and amount of grease for the gear reduction side of it. Thanks as always.

I'm not too familiar with the 223 but have gaggles of the Mitsuba 226's. A lot of times the "numeral-3 digits" changed dynamics of armature drive/location of +wire lead or housing clamping. Show me a pic please.

The e-starter gear looks like a chain driven starter clutch bike......

Yes, a small sprocket slips on the end. Typical 400.
