Can you take a bright closeup photo of the coils? Or do you know where you got the coils?
If your meter is accurate, and the coils are relatively new, then the coils should be ok.
Just to be sure, are you measuring the 3.5 ohms on the small spade connectors of the coil?

I spliced the cable with the plastic tube that heats up with lighter and shrinks..

Do you think that will work?

I was looking at the parts diagram for your bike. It shows it had electronic advance. Did you install a mechanical advance unit? Or maybe it is a non-U.S. model with mechanical advance?

The Dyna S will not advance the timing. It requires a mechanical advancer unit. Your bike did not originally come with one.
The bike should idle and maybe rev up a little, but it won't rev fully without an advancer unit.

The other option, if you have the original pickups, is to get the original igniter if you can.

The electronic-advance ignition needs the electronic-advance pickups and one-piece rotor.
The mechanical-advance ignition uses the mechanical-advance pickups and advancer with rotor.

Your Dyna S replaces the pickups and rotor, so you only need the advancer unit to use the Dyna S, But it requires different coils.

I'm not sure which way to go is cheaper, but the original electronic-advance should give a little better performance if that's a concern. The mechanical advance also advances very suddenly, so sometimes that can lead to a little knocking under certain conditions. The electronic-advance is slightly more gradual.

The one he has doesn't have a mechanical advancer?

According to the parts diagram, the U.S. model (as that is the only one I can see) has electronic advance, which means it has the big igniter unit and different pickup plate, and no advancer. The parts photo shows them clearly.

The 84 KZ700-A1 & 750-L4, and some (all?) of the ZX750s, have a pulsing coil rotor instead of a mechanical timing advancer.
I assume the rotor is what triggers the pickups. correct?

Yes. The rotor is just a plate of steel with a tooth on it, unlike the mechanical-advance rotor which is a slug of iron with a really well-thought-out shape on it. That slug is a thing of beauty.
