Need new ignition coil for 1984 KZ440 D6

The bike is showing all the signs of weak spark: the spark looks red instead of light blue, the plugs run a bit on the sooty side, the engine has a slight miss especially at higher rpms or under load, plus power and fuel mileage are sub-par.
So, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good replacement coil for my ride?
All the best, Jeff

Question -- With the ignition switched ON and the engine NOT running, what is the measured voltage being received at the coil primary terminal as compared with the measured voltage between the battery posts?
The following illustration is an example of the several connections where voltage might be lost. (Just ignore the second coil in a dual coil system).

Thanks Martin, I was considering A Dyna coil as a possibility.martin_csr wrote: Could he use a Dyna ignition coil? either 2.2 ohm or 3.0 ohm? or are they not available individually?

Thanks for the great info Patton--I really appreciate it--what is acceptable voltage loss in the ignition system?

I bought a Caltric R/R. It failed in a week and almost ruined my alternator. Cheap CHINESE JUNK. That's a boat.

Would aim for no voltage loss or at least a very minimal voltage loss, because any loss is likely due to corrosion in the connections and/or switches between the battery and coil.
Could be helpful to verify the quality of spark produced when the existing coil is known to be receiving full voltage from a good fully charged battery.
Perhaps the existing coil is capable of producing fat blue plug sparks while the engine is being spun over via the electric starter (or kick starter if so equipped).
Good Fortune!
