26 Oct 2012 16:08 - 22 Feb 2013 10:05This is the best I've got, which shouldn't matter, since all you can see from the top is that black insulator.wireman wrote: Can you post a picture from the top side so I can see how its attached to the plate?
The underside where the wire is attached has a red plastic fitting w a wire connector kinda riveted thru the center of it. Pattons's ebbaayy link has a fairly decent photo of the red fitting.

I think it has been leaking for a while into the vacuum hose, that would explain the occasional sputter when i restart it. Today at a gas station in +#^!^0I fouled it out(gas on plug(s) , so i had to rev it up to blow some of the gas out of the engine, and the dumb-ass pulling out behind me in the pickup thought it was a good reason for a one man tire burning competition.
The vacuum hose that is on there is clear so i can also see it light up when it is being warmed up with the choke on. now it is spewing all over the place.
I also lost the bolt and washer for the gas tank, how stupid, I drilled out the bottom of the air box under the filter(before if it came loose it would just fall in the filter).

Where did you drill the holes in the airbox? ... I'm wondering about unfiltered air?
Z1Enterprises.com sells petcock kits. I just got the diaphragm kit this time... it's a little cheaper than the rebuild kit. Mine was spewing fuel out the edge of the diaphragm cover. The Kaw dealer may have the stuff.

I was very happy with that Shinko tire so i got a different Shinko tire. something about Shinko. It seems that motorcycle tires is about all they do.

Z1Enterprises.com has the airbox ducts.
For a patch job, something more flexible than jbweld is probably needed,
but I would go ahead & get new ducts.

air ducts are OK, a little worse for the wear. just when rubber/plastic gets soaked with gas it stretches i guess. runs a lot smoother with those tight on there.
The fuel gauge switch is leaky so i ordered a new gasket today(a week i guess), and last night i soldered around the inside part and now the gasket is made of really small fuel hose that i used to replace the gasket by wrapping it around the indent. still leaks but not so much i will have to wait for the gasket. :side:
