got a dual output dyna coil off ebay, ended up being blown. no resistance in the contacts  my luck. well dude immediatly refunded me and i just went to my local NOS  dealer friend and bought a used oem 4ohm coil with replacible contacts and wires. it's running pretty good, very strong spark.

It's still backfiring some, may be carb issues, but i still want to fine tune the ignition, but need to know where to drill the holes!

anyone know the proper positioning for the dyna s electronic ignition?

A timing light will show you where the ignition is firing at. From there you can tell which way to rotate the plate. If it's running pretty good, I don't think you will need new holes, but just elongate the ones you are using now. I think the pickups on the Dyna S might have a tiny bit of adjustment in them as well, but I might be thinking of the Dyna III.
