I use this igniter (Mfolks mentioned) on an 82/83 gpz550 motor:

The ignition coils may be okay, and simply needing voltage via the red-yellow wire in order to function.
That's why it's important to first assure that voltage is in fact being received by the coils.
Even a perfect coil won't function without voltage.
If the coil is receiving adequate voltage through the red-yellow wire, but the spark plug isn't sparking, there are several possible reasons other than a bad coil.
The "ohm" test on a coil measures the electrical resistance.
Here's an example of measuring resistance in the coil "primary winding," which varies depending on the particular coil.
If there's no conductivity through the primary winding (such as the meter reads when holding the ohm tester probes in mid-air), there's likely a short inside the coil.
But alas, sometimes the coil ohm test looks okay on a cold coil, but the coil may never-the-less fail when operating at speed and higher temperature.
Hence, passing the coil ohm test doesn't guarantee a good coil.
Good Fortune!

Would it possible for someone to call me and sorta school me on what I'm trying to do? The pictures y'all posted up on here don't look like what I have. My coils are a little different and don't know how to use a multimeter. I am okay with posting my number on here if someone is willing to help. Thank you.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configuration"No. Actually I was jumping it when I was checking for spark. When I hit the start button, the ignitor either clicks or buzzes. "
Are you talking about the Starter Solenoid making this noise? So when you press the Start Button, with the clutch pulled in, you just get a click? From the Solenoid, where the positive battery cable connects from the battery, then goes down to the starter?
Can you take some pictures, and then post them to clear things up.
Ignitior is this,
This is a Solenoid, www.wemoto.com/bikes/kawasaki/gpz_550_h1...er_solenoid___relay/

Yea, I know what the parts are. I just went out and double checked. It is the starter solenoid making the noise and clicking and the vibration was just carried over. They are mounted right next to each other.
Here's 2 pictures of my coil and 2 of my pick up if it helps any.

OK, sorry it just sounded like it could have been a mix up.
so give a short run down of what you have checked, Voltage to the Ignition coils, with the key on and the Run switch On?

Well that's my problem. I don't know how to check these things. I understand what everyone explained in previous posts. But when it comes to the multimeter, I am pretty much stumped.

My number is 503-608-2699. I'm in Oregon. If anyone can call and help me use the multimeter and preform these tests it would be great. Thank you.

Post the Make and Model on the Meter, I'll Google it, and then tell you how to use it.
Also these are from my Factory Service Manual, although for a 1000, it is the same for yours.
You Tube has several Videos also on how to use a DVOM Meter.
