Upgrading the Coils on my 82KZ750LTD !

I don't believe the Dyna S would be an upgrade to the factory Kawasaki Electronic Ignition. Unless yours is completely shot. They are quite durable.

This is something that I was looking for since this is my first bike and do not know a lot about them . I could get the coils since I need to change the out anyways and see how well it all works out and if needed I could do the rest when needed . I did not know how well the CDI held up . I know that there is a work around using GM parts but I would rather go with a plug and play set up . My CDI Reads good so I know it is ok for now . I am getting a little tired of only getting 50 miles between working on it for the last 2 years .

Have you serviced the mechanical advancer? This is the maintenance area for the stock ignition, and the Dyna S would use it also. Disassemble and lube, check the springs. Just make sure to put it back on the same way it came off, you can get it 180 out. Make some match marks on it.

I did that last October . And I did put it back in wrong ! I ended up doing the job two times do to putting it in wrong . I am looking to leave some doors open so I can add the Dyna S if needed .
The bike ran great just 2 months ago .

Definitely easy to do, 180 out. Good to do the service though. It will work much better.
Do some research, before considering an Ignition system up-grade, coils are 1 thing but the rest, well read up.

Thanks Motor Head ! I take post I read and everything els into thought as good advice . I have done a lot of reading on this and would like to know what all of you think in real life . What is printed and what is real life is two different things a lot of times .

Get the new coils, and wires installed and go from there. If a new system is wanted, think Electronic programmable advance curve. Just in case you would like to do more mod's later, you will have some room to play with the ignition advance.

If needed is there any down falls with the Dyna S system ? Like I said " IF NEEEDED ".

Then the Dyna 20000 would be the way to go if needed . I did check with Dyna and the 3 ohm coild will be OK . More Cash but also more flexible .

read some of member Loudhvx posts on the Dyna S. It is not as efficient, and if you leave the key on, can melt an ignition coil. it draws more power from your electrical system, and I've read of several failures. but Dyna always warranties the components, as they stand behind their products.

The warranties is one of the things that got my eye . Thanks Motor Head ! This is the info I am looking for !
