Any way to replace plug wires in a factory coil ?

I am not sure how old this post is but I stumbled across it today and thought I'd post a solution.. I found a splicer at an autoparts store and it works well. I presume you can find these at most stores We (the mechanic and I) surrounded the coil in some plastic sheathing to help prevent arcing.
