oops...looked at the light color, not the wires lol! If you have a wiring diagram it should help out. I know my bike (stock) red was tail light, blue brake, black/yellow ground, and I don't remember the turn wire colors.

running light = green Goes to Kawasaki Red
brake light = red Goes to Kawasaki Blue

right turn signal = yellow Goes to Kawasaki Grey

Then with it not flashing, those new rear turn signals are LED lights?
Then you need new Flasher relays That are electronic instead of the old bi-metal. There is a drop in current and they can't pull enough to operate the old style flasher.

I've got the same light with a similar problem (tail light does not turn on. brake light works, blinkers and lic. plate lights also work)....but I figured out one thing.

If I disconnect the brake light line, the tail light starts working. As soon as I connect the brake light wire, no running light. But if I hit the brake, the brake light will work, but no tail light....got it? So if I test each light independently, it works. But when I hook it all up, no tail light. I've confirmed my color codes a dozen times and also tried others just in case...no good.

I also hooked up the original brick light and it works perfectly.

I hope there's a fix for this cause I've tried everything I can think of and I'm stumped. I'm starting to think the light has a wire crossed somewhere.

1981 KZ550 LTD stock for now, but soon to be a cafe racer.

when I did mine I just took a test light and checked each factory wire for correct wire ie: running brake right, left turn etc.. don't remember the color combo did each one and checked it. you may need a resistor or pull the bulb from your dash brake light mine flashes non stop. (was told it was because the LED doesnt draw enough amps to shut it off) when doing checking the tail brake etc.. made no difference it eworked the same either way.

Have you tried a Diode inline with the running and brake lamps, thinking it may be back feeding causing cancelation, just a theory.( I know there already LED but I'd try it.)
