thanks guys, I think I understood that, I guess I was concerned as to whether it mattered which of the spark plug wires say for the 1&4 cylinders coil plugged into the forward or rear input of the coil. I guess it doesnt matter?
That's correct. It doesn't matter.

I am having troubles locating this little guy on my wiring diagram???
As I recall, the oem regulator was attached under the battery box and the separate rectifier was located under one of the side covers.
I enjoy these combo units from Z1E.

Good Fortune!
EDIT -- Part # 21066-024 is the Hazard Regulator (not voltage regulator).

I was trying to show that my bike is outfiitted with the regulator that is silver and bolts to the bottom of the batter box, it also has the traditional looking rectifier that is black and looks like a series of connected diodes between two plates and then we have the mystery item in the picture above that only has three terminals and appears to be a distribution block of sorts. It does not appear on my diagram but I do know that it was utilized.

I also don't see the hazard regulator on the FSM's KZ900-A4 wiring diagram, but the diagram does show the hazard switch and the hazard relay.
Good Fortune!

Good work. I think I have the wiring figured out. Think this is an application from a different year? Any ideas on how I can verify the wiring? Should my choice of terminals matter?
Good for you.
Verify the wiring vs. a proper diagram for your bike, which can be found in your service manual... you do have the service manual, dont you ?
Choice of connectors does not matter, so long as they are good rugged quality, that cannot simply fall apart.
