Anyone own one that can give me some help with the adapter cable?

MSD MC1's for a long time. I'd suggest going directly to MSD ,they have treated me very well on any service/tech issues.

By adaptor cable I assume you mean the main harness cable/plug. What kind of problems are you having ?

I bought a unit and it came without the cable. The wire colors that come from the unit and the colors in the cable harness are not the same. I need to know the color references. I have already called MSD and they are having a hard time.

I also went on the MSD support forums, and someone els has the same problem with the MC2 (which uses the same cable) his questions have gone unanswered. There seams to be a lacking yellow wire and one too many black wires and two to many grey wires.

Yes I saw that. I have the MC1 not the MC2 and I have that diagram for the MC1. The problem is that the wiring harness is not available any more and the wire colors on the harness are not the same as what comes from the actual unit. That is my dilemma. There are three colors that do not match and there are extra wires.

No help for the wires colors or pin numbers where the control box plug is concerned. I see the instructions wee from 92, they should have this info on an old 486 computer drive, and hopefully a printed sheet of paper. I looked for the part #4211 cable assy, but saw nothing mentioned except the kit comes with it. MSD should have info on this part somewhere, might just have to try again and hopefully get someone who has been there a long time.
Maybe post a pic of the control box plug, it might jog someones memory, and a detail of the wire colors that are on the box. It looks like there will be some extra wires, but the color?

That is the sheet I have also. I called MSD about it and they can't find any schematics with the original box and wire colors coming out of it. Most but not all the colors match. The "not all" colors are the ones that are causing a problem. The -GREEN, WHITE, VIOLET, & ORANGE, are no problem. It is the TWO BLACKS and the "THREE" GRAYS that are causing the problem. Plus we are missing a YELLOW.

So the grey wires are a switched 12v source. I think the reason there is 3 is for accessory installs, other shifters or such.
But no luck on the yellow, is the 2 black wires in the same part of the harness with the heat shrink? Or is 1 of the blacks out with the red?
It looks like circuit "Z" is the 12v switched to the coils, so 1 of those gray's most likely is actually a "yellow"

This shows the Gray wires as "12V Switched" Circuit "Z"

I am wondering if the black and yellow wire can be interchanged and therefore they are both black out of the box. There is a separate red and black wire that hook up to the battery. I also wonder if all three gray wires just go to a switched positive.

I studied the prints and the available wire colors some more. I believe that ALL THREE of the gray wires will be "switched Positive" from ignition switch. I also believe that the Black and Yellow wires are interchangeable, since they are both the "Z" wires going to the coils. In short, all three grays are "Z" positive going into the box and black/yellow(second black) is the same "Z" going out.
