Just out of curiosity... what is the charging voltage with the bike running?

Are you sure one of the green connector is ideally seated or didn't fall off on the connector panel?

NOTE @ 4Krpm, this is ~ 15-20Vdc and would explain why your seeing such a high DC voltage on the battery after a run thus over charging....

Just in case you need it....

Your voltage at the battery WITH BIKE RUNNING should never go over 14V with bike off it should not be more than 12.6V I had this problem on one of my Jaguars years ago and it wound up frying my ignition and coils.

To help confirm diagnosis ---

Could disconnect the charging system altogether and test run as battery-only total-loss ignition.

If problem re-occurs, could likely rule out being due to an over-charging charging system.

Good Fortune! :)

Thats just the thing. I havnt had the chance yet to get a voltmeter on there while its running and revving.

The wiring has been totally re-done, and all connectors are excellent/in place.

Come to think of it, the only component not replaced is the reg/rect unit.

Now that i recall... the turn signal lights start to flash super fast or stay on at high rpm when this starts happening. Guess that should have been a first clue...

Thanks.

I'll pick one up at Z1Enterprises on Monday. Its sooo nice living just an hour or so drive away.

Pretty sure the stators ok, but will deffinately run a diagnostic to be sure.

Sometime I just go SOOO frustrated that things arent jsut working! Needed some vent time  :silly:

Believe it or not the original KZ ignition is a better ignition than the Dyna. It actually has some dwell and is much easier on the coils. The Ignition that was designed by "loudhvx" is better yet. That is the one made from the two GM modules. The Dyna was intended to be a points replacement and not an upgrade for the Kawasaki IC ignition. Are you running Green coils or Gray coils?

Ive seen the GM ignition mod and whole heartily agree its a way better upgrade then the dyna however not too many folks know about the GM thing and I think the dyna is bulletproof anyway plus they back up their product
