Naw, not worked up but....
Yes, you'll have Battery Vdc on your coils...
Yes your plugs won't soot as bad...
Yes you have added more load to your current demands...
etc....
And hopefully you'll be able to review your non sooted plugs in the daylight for at night.....
Oh that's right, you only have ideal voltage at your coils and in not truly repairing the issue, your headlights are dim at +8Vdc and you can't see well....
Oh yeah, and hopefully your battery doesn't drain for your most likely not properly charging it..... Good thing you kept that kick starter.... :woohoo:

I have used the Dyna coils for years, good stuff. I have a pair of the green coils on my 1980 LTD. I also use their suppression plug wires, so I dont have to use resister plug caps. The resister caps are not very reliable.
I also recomend the coil mod, the stock ignition system should have used a power relay right from the start. OMR's advice about servicing the stock parts is important too, just remember that you are dealing with a poor design and cheep 30 year old parts.

If it came with a relay on it, my mod would have been to remove it.

you need battery voltage at your ignition system if you don't have that, then the coil mod is at best a band-aid. if i dont get battery voltage i'm looking for a bad ground bad connectors something not looking to add any more complexity to and already old and tired system by throwing a bunch of extra wiring and relays at the problem. Keep It Simple Stupid (k.i.s.s) words to live by especally when it come to electrical componets.

fixer5000, yes and understood... these relays have been used for automotive use for decades.
"WG" did not invent this for sure. However, for KZRider historical reasons he was an important promoter of this Coil Re-Powering mod as the true cause of a lot of Carb attributed symptoms. He promoted this Coil Re-Powering mod even when it cost his own Carb rebuilding shop some orders. I believe alot of KZ's are still on the road due this single mod... at least that's true for my bike.
So as far as I am concerned, the WG prefix can stay... we honor our own.
No confrontation here... I'm just saying.
Best of success.

Yes, the mod helps some bikes and is a shortcut to repairing the actual problem. So is plugging a tire with a hole in it. So is cream coating a tank. Etc. Etc.

Here we go....
The problem is not with George, never has been. Hell the man didn't come up with this wiring, been around quite some time... Like 30 years or so...
See, everyone believes/feels we have it out for the man where we truly don't... Look at past postings, has 100% nothing to do with George. Never have had any bad words or blow outs with him, never have used his service so can;t comment there, NADA, nothing etc...
The issues Loud, Bounty, myself and some others have with the mod is purely technical, nothing more...
So don't bring George into this for it truly has nothing to do with him.
