IMO, compared to a good EFI system with ignition control, carbs are crap. Why? Because there is no way a set of carbs can provide the proper mix for all engine operating conditions.

IN A WORD - YES. The accelerator pumps provide a better
jump than CRs - or mikunis for that matter - dynos dont usually lie - they make more power than the Miks - they can be sourced new at Sudco - lots of variance in size - but fairly pricey - $1200 a set - :S There is one issue - you cannot buy 35mm FCRs at sudco you have to prepay for 4 sets from Keihin Japan and pay the shipping. There are other sizes but 35s are the perfect touch on an 1100 or built 1000 motor. For bonzai psycho motors 37 or 39s are readily available.........

the comment regarding fuel injection is great but you have to go for an aftermarket controller like those from 'megasquirt' if you are running any mods. The DFI system on the GPZ bikes were limited in that regard.

heres a link (not an endorsement)
