Leaking out of overflow

Got a box containing a spare set of carbs and looks like 1 carb rebuild kit still sealed I’ll take a look tomorrow ,
was hoping for advice on easiest way to remove carbs so I could investigate thanks again for your help

 

Thats more job to access to the carbs with Oem Air box.. take your time to remove all and inspect your Boots to the engine. With age they crack !! Find a rebuilt kit for all 4 carbs before you open them, just to be sure that you didn’t do the job twice!!

If you've not found out yet? You have the late (air screw) VM24ss Mikuni Non-pumpers. If it's just one bowl overflowing then it could be just a speck of dirt or a cracked overflow tube? Open the bowl slotted brass drain screw on leaking carb. Let petrol flow out with petcock in ON position. This will wash out any loose debris between needle and seat, hopefully. Reinstall screw and see what happens? If it still is stubborn and leaking then further investigation required. Technically there is enough room to remove everything without having to remove carb rack but it's tight and small fingers required. If it turns out to be a bum float needle and seat then you'll be needing a Mikuni VM26/26 float set, probably a 2.3 opening but could be a 2.0. Seat gasket is Mikuni VM26/25. I always just purchase OEM Mikuni parts but Keyster will work too.

will try this tomorrow as it’s Sunday today and I’ve got an appointment with a large rum and coke and a cigar that should tie me up for a couple of hours!
