Thanks asphalt, I think these are probably the same screws as they are M6 anyway. I suspect a correct tap will be hard to find locally unless the local shop has one.
I am replacing all mains with OEM from Z1, but the tubes appear to be unavailable in OEM. They aren't pitted, the machining just looks lousy. 3 of the 4 pilot jets are immaculate, and look much higher quality than the tubes. This last one is completely plugged and may take a while to clear out. I don't want to scratch it.

No problem 305, love to Help if i can. Your Bleed Pipe/Jet Holder should be 49122-1006 or like these pictured, compare to yours if handy. I have a bag of them. Don't know if Z1 sells "original" jets, they never did even back when Jeff owned it.

Thanks for the offer asphalt, hold that thought for a bit. I am awaiting a set of carbs from another member and want to look at those tubes to see if they are the same as mine. I'm starting to wonder if the bleeders are just not that critical and maybe that's why they look a but rough. I see a bit of that even in your picture, I think, where the side holes don't look perfectly round. I have a 45x stereo microscope so I can see extremely fine detail in mine that I can't in the picture. Anyway I think those carbs will come this weekend so I'll let you know.
Yah I noticed right away when I put the mains under the scope they are not Mikuni. I guess I misinterpreted the listing which starts out "Main Jet-Mikuni..."
But the real deal Mikuni 92.5s seem to be not available anyway so these are probably/hopefully next best

Just FYI 305. Not available you say? Don't know where you're looking but there are about 60ish vendors selling them on ebay, same main size you require too. Beware though and anybody else watching this!! Seems to be a gaggle of vendors popping up that use boxes/packages of Genuine in background of photos but product is just generic Chinese bits. I buy from either "Parts Giant" or "Shopmotomentum" when buying 4-packs of genuine Mains. Good Luck, might have everything you need in the other set or maybe you won't have to fuss with your current set and just use the new arrival!!

Hmm, I stand corrected. I guess my mistake was searching with the Kawasaki part number, and believing that Z1 was a go-to source for our bikes. Their listing also says "Genuine" whatever that means, but sure sounds like it SHOULD mean Mikuni. They don't have the Mikuni square within a square on them, but then neither do several of the ones I see on ebay that are claiming to be Mikuni. Should I not trust these main jets and keep looking? My intent was to use only Mikuni brass.

14 Nov 2025 08:38 - 14 Nov 2025 08:59Can you tell the brand? Even if generic, they will most likely be fine. And same goes for the emulsion tubes. In all my years working on carbs, i've never replaced them. The dealbreaker with carbs is poor cleaning. Clogged internal passages, plugged up pilot jets, degraded O-rings, leaking float valves, stuff like this.Hmm, I stand corrected. BTW, if you look at Clay's photo of the emulsion tube, and see the space between the hex and the threads, that means that those emulsion tubes are intended to be used with an O-ring. Some other carbs, have the threads right next to the hex, and those don't need an O-ring. Mind you, it won't hurt to use one regardless, but that's not how the carbs came originally.

There are no markings except "92.5" on the main jets. They appear to be high quality under the scope so I may just use them.
My emulsion tubes also have the space for the o-ring. Everything else is stamped with the Mikuni stamp except those, but I suspect they are original since everything else appears to be. I order a new Mikuni pilot jet because the clogged one is beyond help. Soaking, heating even hammering (after I had ordered a new one) could not budge the concrete within. So if the snow can hold off one more week I might even be able to take it for a ride if I can get the air ducts back on, which I gravely doubt. Maybe with a heat gun. Need to start a separate thread about the airbox-airduct problem.

I forgot to check until you reminded me. It is a little small, looks like it is ~11 mm and mine is ~12.

Can someone post a pic of these carbs installed, showing the cable linkage attachments? I thought I took pics before taking apart but apparently I didn't push "save." Not too many ways they can go but if there is a wrong way I can find it. I know where each cable goes its just where the adjusting/lock nut ends up that I want to make certain of
