I know ZED1015 is "mentally" going to spank my lily white bottom for this but i oring the protrusion of the choke plunger and have been doing it for over a decade. Never had any problems, or complaints. If nothing else it immediately curbs a misbehaving plunger to take it out of the quotient. Goofy i know but costs about 2dollars to complete. Oring is a 1.5mmID x 4.5mmOD and 1.5mm Cross Section/thickness. I superglue them to the existing pad after i clean the gunk off. This will raise the assembled height about a MM but not any issue. Are Your 28SS's Pumper or Plain?

1000A didn't offer 28's as an option, only 26's. The 78 Z1R Did have the 28's though.

Max i see it all the time. Person's have No clue what goes to what yet peddle them all the time. Did You record/verify all the "brass" numbers? They changed a lot of stuff over the years but you can still "fit" mis-matched bits. Eventhough you say they are 28's the slides from a 26 will fit but different (CA) cutaway. Send some pics Please. Also those Pumper carbs, you say they are not, can be converted. You "might" have a cobble of internal stuff, being You said "apparently' the cat you purchased from was clueless anyway, ha.

Ain't that the truth, the rear calliper on my build (from a GSXR) was advertised as K1,K2,K3 but is actually a K4 so I had to get the pads and seal kit changed that I ordered :(
