To me this sounds like you have a lean condition. You mentioned what you've done so far, and the list does not appear to include new intake boots or checking for leaks around the existing boots. The original boots would be rather inflexible / non-pliable at this point, so even if they are not cracked it is entirely possible you have an air leak on one or both sides.

Something else to try: get an infrared thermometer and check the temperatures of both headers while the engine is running. If one is noticeably lower than the other, that is a weak cylinder. If they are the same, either they're both fine or your problem is evenly distributed. :)

Something I didn't think about, switches dropping voltage to the coils.  I will certainly look into that!  Thank you again!
