Re: Slow drip on all 4 bowls
30 Apr 2021 01:02 - 30 Apr 2021 01:06Coincidentally I diagnosed one of my bowls as being corroded earlier this week but couldn't see the corrosion. I took the bowl off, stood it on a couple of bits of wood with a piece of pipe on the overflow curved round to catch the drips. Sure enough it was dripping with no visible corrosion. The only indication of corrosion was looking down the pipe I could see a faint line around about half the interior of the pipe where it passes through the carb.Thank you for the suggestion but the overflows are crystal clearThis maybe doesn’t apply to your problem but could be something for you (and others that have gas leaks) to think about. I had a nagging leak on a nice set of great running carbs. No matter what I did gas kept coming from the bottom of the bowls. The overflows. After a couple of weeks I finally figured it out. The overflow pipe had corroded where it passes through the bowl. Gas was leaking through the hole in the pipe and exiting the overflow making it look like the bowl had too much gas. A new bowl and the leak was no more. Good luck.

My solution was replacing the float bowls, the PO shrink tube leaked. Chased It for a long time.
Next a neighbor blew cigarette smoke through the carbs and we found a leak on the fuel rail... replace those O-rings every time you split the carb rack imho.
