If this is the spark plug color commonly referred to as Peanut Butter (obtainable with correct carburetor adjustment, jetting, and fuel used),
then we are good to go...

You are pretty close!!!! The guy from Champion spark plugs used to call it Baby $hit Brown!!!!!

These plugs are from a full throttle plug chop. As long as you have color on the ground strap you are go to go!!!!

By far an expert but based on the reference submitted by Zed1015 I’d say your plug might be a tad hot.

See photo of my recent plug check. The color seems to stop at the radius of the earth strap. But again this was not a hard pull plug chop.

I think we’re both at a happy place seeing how these are street bikes. Just my $.02. But more a test to see if I’m reading plugs correctly. Experts please chime in.

Looks good to me. I'd run them for 100 miles and see if they'll change.

Ok, changed oil and filter after just over 900 miles, and drained all but 1.25 qt. back into the Rotella T4 container.
Here's the plugs again after rompering around through all of that, and that last 100 miles.

Should I adjust pilot fuel screws to see if I can get #2 riched slightly and #4 a nudge lean. or try one step rich and lean with those pilot air jets?

Replaced those Accel plugs with a set of NGK BR8EIX's to see what difference that might make, and I got my answer right-quick.

:woohoo:

Resistor plugs and Taylor Resistor wires with Non-Res connectors on both ends. So I bent my rule of resistance, and shame be all on me.

I'd richen up #2 a tad and run it. Have you done your plug chops yet? Looks like you're burning a little oil or it's too rich somewhere. I'm about at the same place but I know I'm burning a little oil. It's getting better I just have to put 100 non stop miles on the bike. Stop and go just isn't cutting it.

My cheapy Autozone multi-meter showed 3.74 +/- ohms on 1,3 & 4, but 40.0 (forty) on defective spark plug wire 2. It now reads 4.20 +/-. and she's really bitch'n!

I'll play with the needle clips next, and see what that does...

:)

Raised the needle clip to slot #2, thereby lowering the needle a smidgen to lean-out the mixture..!!!!!!

:woohoo:
