I am strongly thinking about getting the Delkevic exhaust below. I currently have the original 4-2 original pipes on the bike. They are too quiet for my liking.

Does anyone have experience going from 4 into 2 to 4 into 1 on a 1977 KZ650B? If a rejet is necessary, what are the recommended sizes?

Also, Im keeping the stock airbox and WILL NOT be putting on pods.

Thanks in advance:

Install a high flow air filter and install 17.5 pilots, 102.5 mains with the needle clips in the middle slot.

Ugh. I was really hoping I could just slap the Delkevic on. In that case I may just leave it stock. Its just the stock pipes are so fucking tame!

I want the bike to sound like a beast!

In your other thread TexasKZ put the link to the exhaust on Z1 enterprises, at the bottom it says "typically no rejetting required using the quietest baffle setting"

On my KZ1000, I'm running the stock airbox with the Delkevic pipe and my jetting is almost stock. (slight change in the pilots because I got rid of the pumps) runs great.
Try it first to see if you actually need a jetting change.

After everything you went through getting your charging system working right throwing in a K and N filter and a set of 17.5 pilots would be a piece of cake ...... and be a step closer to the beast your expecting.

Trouble is, I dont have time to do it.

If I took it to a garage in NYC = KACHING! Garages in nyc extort vintage bike owners and would charge me $$400 - $500 to put on the exhaust AND rejet. My wife is like "nooooo buddy, youre not spending ANYMORE time with those bike AND youre not spending money at a shop." So its a catch 22. Thats the problem with having 5 bikes.

I could squeeze out like an hour or so but Im more concerned about putting the exhaust on. Some ppl say there is some dithering and welding that might have to be done.

You don't have the time rejet the stock carbs? What were you going to do with the FCR's, those take a LOT of tuning.
