Today I have VM24 on my 1981 z750L engine (Wiensco 810 big bore), what carb can I upgrade to for more power but stable and good to drive?
I have after a lot of work got the VM24 to work good, so I`m not planning to replace right now, but will look for a upgrade plan in the future for more power :)

I understand I will be able to take more out of the 810 kit by having larger carbs.

I has also understood slide carbs is better when you running with pods?

Thank you all !

Look under the historic KZ650 in the racing section for info on the VM28mm carbs off a KZ1000..... (was looking on Ebay for a while till I decided to go through the smooth bores ....... my 29mm smooth bores are too touchy and expensive for me to recommend them and parts are drying up too. Zucdave likes the idea of VM28s over the 29s too and said he'd do them if he had it to do again. (So would I)

Yes I think VM28's would be a better choice over the Vm29's for a stock cammed 810 kitted 750 motor.

In the tread I suggested he picked up around 3 hp and I was told maybe 4 to 5 but am leaning more towards the 3 hp mark....... a little mid range too so not a big amount but every little bit helps. It might ( or should ??) help your motor a little more also since you have 110 more cc's (you lucky dog) ...... but of course getting the jetting spot on is gonna make a difference too.

I'm running an 810cc kit on mine also with porting, performance cams and an RC 4-1 exhaust. Over the last 30 years I've ran VM24, VM26, VM28, VM29 ans RS32 carbs. I ended up getting the best ALL AROUND performance with the VM24. Sure I give up some top end but who rides around at WOT all the time. The 24's perform great for a daily rider, starts easy, idles smooth, pulls hard while getting over 40mpg. They were a WHOLE lot easier to dial in than the larger ones.

3-4 HP don`t sounds much? I`m newbie with motorcycle, but with a car 3-4 HP will not be noticeable, but 3HP will be a differences on a bike?
