Kz 1100 carb sync

I was sync carb today for second time and all went better, engine runns smoother but far from my expectations. I found one missing something in choke shaft, looks like the spring and ball is missing!!!! That is why choke shaft is loose and there is no certain click for open and off choke. As I see on the diagram there is only spring and ball which must be (my guess) inserted in two specific holes before inserting the shaft. Is that right?Any suggestions?

Found this after a carb rebuild by an so called specialist.

It is probable that the tiny ball is missing, and the spring is still in there. Your local hardware store may have a suitable replacement, sized to just pass through the hole.
Is the fuel level showing just above the bowl-drain screw in your picture? It appears to me too-low, or maybe there is air in the tube distorting the view.
BTW, thanks for posting those great-quality photos.
Also, your carb clamps and blue silicone vacuum plugs are awesome choices. I use those same clamps with protective inner-bands, and will never go back to the chincy stock type.
