Mikuni 33mm carb slides was created by 1984GPz1100x2
I have a set of 4 Mikuni 33mm carbs. I pulled out two of the slides and discovered a through hole in the cylindrical side of each. The holes were plugged with what I presumed to be solidified fuel, so I poked the material out i.e. cleaned the hole. Now I'm having thoughts that the "plug" was intentional, possibly silicone, but now I'm clueless. I can't yet remove the other two slides due to some stripped Phillips heads. Should these holes be free of blockage?
Thanks. Btw, I bought the carbs on ebay and installed them on my '84 GPz1100, and the engine started and ran, but not real good. I'm converting from DFI to carbs.

I can't figure out how to attach the pic i just took. It says "enter URL of image". I am clueless. The hole is approx 2 mm in diameter, and 5mm below the top of the round slide.

Update: just removed other two slides. Both have holes plugged with clear material, that looks like silicone.

This set of vacuum slides was removed from a set of KZ1000 Police carbs several years ago, and the holes plugged with JB Weld. Other than the holes in the side, the slides are the same as others that do not have them.
It was suggested to me that those holes were limiters of some sort, so being respectful of limits I plugged them.

Click attachments, then add files, it should take you to my pictures, if not, right click it and click select. Once you find the pic, right click it then click select. The pic should show and click insert. It should be in your post after you click submit.
