Fuel Resistant Vacuum Caps was created by Nessism
Stupid question, sorry, but I'm looking for some rubber vacuum caps to seal off three vacuum nipples on some carbs. Bought some vacuum caps from the auto parts store and they cracked after less than 6 months. Contacted Dorman and they said their caps are made of vinyl and won't hold up to direct gasoline exposure. What's the purpose of carb vacuum caps if they can't hold up to gas? The caps as sold by Kawasaki are something like $12/each and discontinued. Crazy. Plugging some ports shouldn't be this hard.

Back when I had 4 carbs on my bike vs 1 now with turbo I put clear fuel line on vacuum lines about 10 inches llong if memory serves me. I then plugged the fuel lines with plastic male fittings. I did this originally to make it faster to plug in my carb sync gauges. I would bundle and tie all 4 together and hide them under the tank. I also used fuel line and plugs threaded into my fuel bowls in the drain / jet change hole and it made it easy to purge any suspected bad fuel. They served as a remote catch can for moisture in fuel and this helped keep me running. Just a thought

I was gonna say Z1 too but they are 10 bucks plus shipping and show outta stock..... I've been using a piece of fuel line with a screw screwed in the end for years and years with no problems..... maybe a little jury rigged but free and you can't really see em.

Some years ago in a pinch I made my own using short pieces of black (1/4 inch ?) fuel line plugged at one end with a piece of grey 2 part epoxy. Mostly I just use the auto store ones. No problems

Yup, fuel line with a short Allen screw using the head as a plug. I do a lot of vacuum testing and have the plugs off and on a lot. The factory plugs start to lose tension and get loose after a few cycles. Making them costs about 5$ for20 or so.

I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

I found some of those K&L caps on ebay for $9 shipped so pulled the trigger. I'm not a fan of K&L parts but these caps seem low risk. Thanks to daveo for the tip on that P/N.
