1979 kz1000 ltdb
27 Jun 2016 14:33
Hello everyone I bought a 1979 kz1000 ltd but when I start the engine i have to use the choke to keep it running as soon as i move the choke a little bit it dies.it runs a little rough.i removed all the bottom bowls on the carbs and cleaned it with carb cleaner, checked all the needles cleaned the little holes. soaked them on carb cleaner for a while and removed a lot green gunk from there. put it back together and same thing.today i put seafoam in the gas tank and runs a littla bit better but it stills dies when i move the choke.any advice will be appreciated.

The pilots are very small. A guitar string or strand from a wire brush is helpful to make sure they're clear.

+1 Steve..... Rocky, do you have an in line fuel filter, & is it clean ? & can you see any rust in the tank ? you might have to remove the petcock & make sure the petcock filter is clean of any debree or rust
