Depends if the carbs are synced or not. 900 RPM to 1200 out of sync. Will make the devil's own noise out of sync at low idle.

My 550a seems happiest at 1100 rpm (using the tach as measurement).

The Kawasaki Service Manual shows 1,000 - 1,100 rpm as the idle speed spec. Ed

And would keep in mind that the stock tach is likely less than perfectly accurate at these very low rpm ranges.
