Replacing the fuel line and vacuum lines

As I've read, fuel line is 5/16" and needs a clamp.
Vacuum is 1/4".

I found a couple fuel lines available from McMaster Carr, but they say not for use with Ethanol fuel. The others don't reference Ethanol, but to me that doesn't necessarily mean they ARE ok for Ethanol.

Does anyone have a part number for McMaster Carr fuel line you've successfully used with Ethanol fuel?

And does the vacuum line need to be fuel rated as well? I have all sorts of 1/4" line at work, but it's all for air and nitrogen, so I don't think it would work in the oil and fuel environment.
I am going to replace from the line from the petcock to the carbs, but also the two lines coming from the end carbs that runs to the top of the head.

All the ends are a bit stretched and cracked, so it's beyond replacement time.

I've used a variety of fuel line, clamps, filters, etc. on my KZ650-C1 over the past 39 years; and the link below describes the absolute best I have found, and the fuel line is ethanol-proof. Ed

You can use anything for the vac line. I installed Tygon 1/4" there several years ago & it is still nice n soft. I've replaced the fuel line several times & keep extra on hand.

I use 1/4" fuel line from the local A/P store. Have to heat it up to fit the carbs (no clamp needed) and use a spring clamp on the petcock. Also use a fuel filter.

I use Tygon for all my motorcycle fuel lines. Never had a problem with ethanol.

Do you know specifically what Tygon tubing you got? color? the stuff I got was solid grey (not translucent). when new it was nice n soft but the fuel line turned rock hard. I'm wondering if they've now come out with something suitable for ethonal. thanks.

Tygon comes in various types, some of which are fuel resistant and some are not.

McMaster-Carr has a nice sorting interface. You can search through the various hose materials they sell and down select materials compatible with "gasoline" as well as select .25" ID. Doing that shows they sell Oil-Resistant Buna-N Rubber Tubing that will work on a bike.

Personally, as mentioned in various other threads on this topic, Suzuki fuel tubing is the best stuff I've ever used. It's 7mm ID, thin and flexible. No need for a hose clamp and it slips easily over the hose nipples on the petcock and carbs. It's superior stuff and if you order the factory part number, they send you about 5' of the stuff for $10. Like Ness said, it's the Tygon for oil and gas. It's a translucent yellow and so far has worked really well. It's cheap enough I can replace it when I replace the fuel filters.
