29 s or 34s?????

hey guys my previous 80 1000 b had a bunch of motor work done.cams,bored over, v& h clutch.Barnett springs,welded crank..ported...OK here's my question.. I had 29 mm smoothbore s on it..it freekin was a screamer!!!!! 11 sec 1/4. Fast forward 25 yrs. I have another 80 1000 b..,..talked to same mechanic that built first one, he recommended 34 mm carbs ,,wat do you guys think..?????new bike has o upgrades ..but they are in my plan...i m starting to gather parts for the project.. Which way should I go????thanks for any help..Pat

The 34 is a more modern carb. The 29 and 33's were hard to tune.

That kinda depends on which 34s you are asking about. BS? RS? CR? CR-S? Weber? SU?
