Ok, the KZ is missing the air filter, they're a pain to get and we wanted K&N's anyway.
I understand that with more air you need more fuel, that's basics. I just need one or two tips. Do I up both jets or just the main jet? Are all jet's a universal screw fit or do I need a specific style or type of jet to fit a KZ carb? What sort of increments should I go up in? Lastly how the hell do I know my air fuel ratio is any good? Standard plug check method? I take it I go obviously rich and work down?
I know this is basics for a lot of guys but I'm new to a job of this size and I', trying my best to get this bike running nicely.

Filter change only? One step on both.

I usually assume the bikes were too lean from the factory and go up at least one size on the pilots. With a K&N I usually go two. Once you get to adjusting your fuel screws you'll know if you went too big. For the mains you'll have to ride it to see where you are at but you'll probably want to go at least one size larger.
You can give Jeff a shout over at Z1 Enterprises and he can recommend what you might need since a lot depends on what mods you have done and where you ride (altitude).
Good luck,
Jim

If you call the dude at z1enterprises and tell him your setup, carbs, filters, exhaust, etc, he will know exactly what you need. The guy is really knowledgable with older jap bikes
