i backed off the pilot screws 3 turns and still no fuel. I am going the to check the passage ways up to the pilot screw and see if the issue is there. It seems odd though that after a complete clean and rebuild by a mechanic that all 4 carbs are clogged in the same place.

my 81 1100 won't start without a shot of ether.
once running, it has a huge hanging idle.
when I spray either on the boots, it revs up drastcially. I ordered the 4 boots between carbs and engine,

I'm hoping the boots are rotted out and leaking, and has enough leaks the choke circuit doesn't work while cranking.

They'll leak at the head first. You don't see it there.

Boots leaving the airbox and going into the cylinder are solid. Vacuum lines new. I can hold my finger over a disconnected vacuum line and I can feel suction when cranking.

Sad I know, I had to put the troubleshooting on hold because I bought a daily driver that turned into another project.
It's been a year and hopefully I can return to this issue. Either that or it goes to the dealer before it is beyond repair.
