Lines coming from bottom of carb was created by Gregl
Hey guys scooped up these two bikes for a sweet 200 bucks. Guy was building it into a cafe racer. All I need to do is put the thing back together. Problem is, I've never worked on a bike before. There are two lines coming out of the carb I just cleaned and aligned. What are they? I'm assuming drains. It's a ks440

They are OVERFLOW tubes. They must be left open. Ed

The plastic tubes that connect to the bottom of the carbs are there to drain fuel if your floats allow too much gas into the carb bowl. They SHOULD stay dry all the time. The shutoff screw you mentioned may be the drain plug on the bottom outboard side of the carbs. That screw is not related to the overflow tubes, and will allow the entire bowl to be emptied, if you take the screw out.

The screws are plugging the end of the lines. That's all I was wondering what the purpose of that was.

Some are used to drain the carbs. Good way for the clear tube test ports.
