TK22 Choke with Pods

I am using 39mm Emgo pods. The metal base of the filters is too wide. They contact each other and have to be installed on an angle to fit all four on. At first I figured I had ordered the wrong filters but according to the Emgo ecat there is only one part number for 39mm pod filters.

This is a bummer however I have a more serious problem here.

How do you use the choke? The choke lever hits the pod filter base preventing it from moving.

Tomorrow morning my good sir.

I also attached a screenshot of the Emgo catalog. 12-55739 is too wide for TK22 carb rack.

Yes, it's a very tight fit. But the rubber stretches over time and takes a "set". Notice the two left pair, and the two right pair are the ones that interfere. Put them on together in pairs so they will equally push on each other. Just snug the clamp enough so they don't pull off easy, and the filters will stay just fine. If you go too tight, you can cut the rubber.

In some extreme cases I may have squished them a tiny bit in a vise. But be careful. If you over-do it, you can break cement.

The choke lever is very ductile. You just bend the lever out a tiny bit and it will clear with no problem. Actually, on the gpz, often times the lever hits the corner of the airbox as well, so whether you have pods or airbox, you probably want to bend the lever outward about 10 degrees.

Here you can maybe see it. It's bent right across the letter "C" in "CHOKE".

The pods that were installed on my cv carbs was partially blocking the port that provides vacuum to lift the slides.
I used some silicone hose to make 2" spacers that didn't restrict flow to that port.
Although my reasons were different I think that this solution would also solve your choke issue because its thinner than the lip on the pods. It will also allow you to stagger the pods depth wise to fit.
I'm not sure how they willhold up over time but so far so good.

No more of that talk or I'll put the leeches on you, understand?
