Stock setting is 1 and 1/4 turns out from "lightly" seated....... mine are about dead even with the surface when adjusted to that...... I have mine out 1 and 3/4 now with the mods and improved but keep yours around 1 and 1/4......will adjust mine closer with the new carb tune this summer.

no I'm talking about the screws under my bowls that control the fuel. not the fuel bowl plugs. my carbs have a girl screw under each bowl. it's a sharp brass needle

Ok that's the pilot screw type carb and mine is the air screw type that doesn't have that on the bottom ...... my factory manual says 1 and 1/8th turn out from lightly seated for that...... so very close to the same.

Clymer says the same so yes 1 and 1/8th turn out.

Yes..... here's one thing the Clymer doesn't show the difference as good as the factory manual ..... in it (Clymer) look under the break down and it will show the pilot screw assembly on the bottom you have for the "pilot screw type carb" and since mine is the air screw type shown in the break down it only has that and no pilot screw at the bottom.
