Clearing gas from overflowing carb
01 Mar 2016 11:57
I am a new bike owner so please be patient. Had an issue with the carbs overflowing into the crankcase of my 82 KZ750 H. I am pulling the carbs to clean/replace the float valves and replacing the petcock to fix the problem since I have read that both must fail to have the overflow.
My question is that although I know to change the oil, but what to do about the gas in the chamber? Can I pull the spark plugs and run the starter a couple of times to get it to spurt out? Its been a couple of days, would it have evaporated out on its own? Not wanting to do something that can damage my bike inadvertently

The light that burns twice as bright, burns half as long. And you have burned so very, very brightly Roy.

Check the overflow tubes for cracks. It happens. To be safe take the plugs out and turn it over.
