Are you familiar with how to adjust the points and do you have the Kawasaki Service Manual for your model bike? Adjusting points involves two different adjustments that should not be confused with each other. You FIRST adjust the gap. You adjust it when the points are at their widest gap without worrying about the "F" mark "T" mark or anything else. AFTER the gap is set correctly you adjust the timing, and this is done by rotating the points plate - not by changing the gap The timing is adjusted by setting the exact point at which the points open to the "F" mark. The manual will give instructions and specs. Ed

Yes. The heel might be worn down.





The felt pad (see image below) is supposed to be moist with oil, which helps lubricate the movement between the heel and rotor, and supposedly retards wear on the heel.
