Take those carbs off immediately they will cause irreparable damage - if you ship them to me I can exchange them for a set of BS34's or VM24's by return - you choose :) I even have a stock airbox for the 34's

Seriously, if it were me for what those carbs are worth I would sell them and use the money to buy carbs better suited to the 750 and quite a few other parts for my bike into the bargain. The best performing 750's were the later GPz750's they had the 34mm Mikunis.

When running the VM29's on a small motor you get a weak idle signal there fore you
need to run what seems like a way to large of a pilot jet so they will pull fuel.
A 25 pilot on a KZ1000 would be rich but on the small motor with less air flow it
doesn't act as a to large of a jet because it's not flowing as much fuel.

Another thing that nobody mention's is the idle air bleed jet that is in one of the tube's in the mouth
of the carb. it also need's to be larger to help pull fuel.

Hoping to getting my 29s on my bike this summer ....... 17.5 pilot and .9 air jet has always given me a big flat spot off idle too..... what are you thinking Dave 22.5s and a 1.0 air jet? ......... how about the air screw...... seems like mine never helped much but maybe I need to go farther than a 1/4 turn and I found out before I went back to the stockers my old carb holders were not sealing all that great either ..... on these does screwing it in richen the mix? I did pick up a color tune and will give it a try.

Did you ever see what jets you have Kawasaki subaru ? 117.5 mains seemed pretty close on the top end .... may go 120s now?

I won't argue about maybe selling and going with 28mms but I bought them new in 83 and just couldn't do it. 299.99 from Racecrafters.

Smart move (my opinion). Hopefully you can find a decent set of stock Keihin's or some Mikuni's off a GPz750 or later year KZ750. Sadly, most ebayer's want a king's ransom for a set. There were a couple sets lately for decent prices but they don't last long.

I think so too.
And something a little more newbie friendly.
From what I've read these are some fragile carburetors and parts are getting hard to find.
Id rather put them in the hands of someone who really wants them, and then get myself something that has a lot of available parts/how to's...etc.
It's gonna suck not riding for a while since its so nice out here in Los Angeles!

Know anyone in the market for a set of rare Mikuni's?!

i put them up for $650 without the K&N pods and then $800 with the pods.
I based this off other sets I've seen on eBay go for $600 to $1200. without pods too.
What do you guys think?

Have you sold much on eBay? They'll keep the money for the first 10 transactions and wait until the buyer signs off on the sale. At that point it's a crap shoot. Read the discussion boards.

Yeah I'm aware they take a percentage I've sold on there several times before. Probably not 10 though.
I dropped the price. Started high and wanted to see the feedback since I can't find much info on past vvm29 sales

Someone will buy them Just be careful. Check their reviews as a buyer before you close the deal. When I sold vehicles I had and have my limits on two or more complaints of not buying. There are other settings to weed out the flakes.

I think you made a wise choice selling the Vm29's and finding some VM28's
but then I think some 32 or 34 cv type carb's would work better for you.

KZB2 right now I'm running 25 pilot's and 125 main's and not sure on the air bleed jet's.
but since mine is a track only drag bike the idle is not that important for me.

Don't think so Steve. You get your money from the sale, less the exorbitant ebay and paypal fees, and you are subject to a forced refund if the buyer isn't happy.
