Are the 26 and 28 mikuni pilot jets interchangeable? I found some on eBay they look the same but it says they are for vm28 but I have vm26 on my bike..thx for any input!

does that mean you could bore the throttle bodies out to 28mm or more?

I guess you could but why? I took the KZ 900 carbs apart for the slides and floats. Looking back on it that was stupid. Who knew they would be worth money now.

Once in a while you will see a set of 28's bored to 29, still not same as a nice set smoothbore's though

So I put went from 17.5 to 20 pilot jets and it comes off the line much better, it actually feels really good all the way through the gears. My settings are kz1000 vm26, v and Hines street pipe, cheapo pods, #120 mains #20 pilot, 4th clip from top on needle, 2 turns out + or - 1/4 turn. The thing is the cyl 1 plug looks light tan on the inside ( looks nice) 2,3,4 still looking too whitish grey to me still to lean but runs really well. Velves are set properly all between .05 & .10mm. Has dyna elec iggy. Prolly makes it leaner also. So my next move is to sync the carbs. I'm at altitude here in Denver Suberb. Anyway just an update I know it's tough to advise but any input is welcome. Thx

Does the air screw work well? Might go 22.5 and 125 main jets .
