Kz1000p mystery fuel tank nipples. Help!!
23 Jan 2016 17:40
Greetings everyone,
The whole bike is disassembled for paint, and the last thing to come off was the tank.
The tank has 3 fittings.... one was the electrical connection.
The other two..... are mystery nipples.
One of them (I'm pointing to it) toward the back of the tank, had a 2.5" fuel line attached to it. In the midst of all the chaos & destruction, I found the line laying on the floor after all was said & done.
.... and I have no idea what it attached to. Can you help?
The other nipple (center of tank, by my pinky knuckle) wasnt hooked up at all when I removed the tank.... should it have been?
Thanks for your help!

Looks like the two nipples go together. The other one is fuel or vacuum.

Thanks swest...... that was the first thing I thought of as well..... but I'm certain the forward one wasnt attached to anything at all.
Plus.... they are only inches apart from one another. Why was there a 2.5 foot line coming off the rear nipple?
Is it possible it was just a vent? The end on the tank had a clamp..... the other end doesnt appear to have been attached to anything. No clamp, the hose isnt stretched, etc. If it was attached somewhere.... it wast tight.

Vent, and the nipple attatched to the sending unit is probably a 'weep hole' in case the sending unit starts leaking the fuel goes away from the motor.
Run two seperate hoses so they exit under the bike or tee them together and exit under the bike.
