Loose fuel inlet tee was created by strum
I got this set of 28 pumpers from ebay and i got em all cleaned up and assembled.
the fuel inlet tee and the crossovers are very loose. Im sure this has been asked before ..lol maybe even by me..but
i got a used set from ebay and the seller said the rubber is fine but I may want to use something like Hylamar Blue on em..
the crossovers actually fit tighter than the ones i have but the tee is about the same..loose.. i tried heating one up with a heat gun and it did fit tighter but im still not sure itll work ..so I have it soaking in a transmission/brake fluid mixture.
any thoughts on this ? you cant put orings on these. and what about the Hylamar Blue method?..waste of time?.
will they swell up when i start using them?

heres a thought..I found a couple of o rings that slid over the tee and slapped it in ..once i mounted the carbs on the rail the tee is very snug..not sure if it will work but its an effort. im going to soak the other one for a day or two and see what happens but i think in a pinch this method with a dab of grease may get me by

I looked at those and i dont think they will fit..it says overall length 40mm thats 1.5748" .. mine is 2.325"
i think theirs are for the older 28 and 26 carbs.

Very easy and cheap fix, wrap regular old Teflon tape around all the ends and insert. Make sure they are all a very snug fit. works great and will last.

get the yellow Teflon tape for gas plumbing , it's thicker than the white & probably more impervious to the fuel

im not opposed to this at all but i still want to figure out how to swell the rubber.
i have seen concoctions using wintergreen and acetone i think..

Mine leaked after sitting for 20 years unused but swelled back up after being reintroduced them to fresh gas.
they have since held for 4 years and over 30,000 miles.
So I say soak them in gas for a couple days and see if they feel tighter. ;)

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI bought the replacement aluminum ones off eBay from a guy in Belgrade MT. You might be able to contact him and see if he has a set for your 28's.
I know this is not the right part but you can use this link if you wanted to contact the seller.
