Those plugs should just pull out. O rings might be sticky.

Nothing lasts, nothing is finished, and nothing is perfect.

You can find the exploded view of your carbs at partzilla.com. You can buy the parts you need there too.
www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Kawasaki/...TOR+PARTS/parts.html
Here is the image from that page.
You still need to remove part 16017 under the main jet (91063 A through D) and clean it as well. Remove cover 14025, all the stuff under it, and then push it through from the top. Be careful not to damage the diaphragm.

Well I got it all apart except carb number 2. Whoever owned this bike in the past did a real number on the hardware. I am going to have to drill out one screw on 2's diaphragm cap. I don't have the tooling here so I'll have to bring it home from work tomorrow. Also the air passages to the bowl had dirt on them so much so I thought they were closed on purpose. I did scratch up the valve seats a bit on removal but I think they'll be fine, I didn't damage anything where the needle rides just some cosmetic scratches through the rag on the outside lip. Think I will put new valve needles in though. The old Springs don't feel right. Those needles on amazon don't call out the 95 kz1000p, are all police bikes the same?

Got carb number 2 apart. Thanks for that rebuild tutorial. Very helpful stuff. I'm am going to begin sourcing parts. I was thinking of using bikebandit as I've had luck with them in the past. Has anyone here used their parts before and are they decent parts for the 1000p?

I like Bike Bandit but they are on the expensive side. Their service is typically good and I've found they get parts to me fastest of anyone.

Good deal I may give them a go then. Found out I have a stripped pilot jet too, gotta figure out how to get that out next. It's the only thing I have left to do and it won't budge.

Got her out, a bit worse for wear though so I'll replace her and the others too while I'm at it.

One of the best things I ever did for working on carbs is grinding a set of screwdrivers so the blades were a TIGHT fit into the slots. If the jets or pilot screw still doesn't want to move use heat and PB Blaster (or similar). It really loosens things up.

I'll have to grind some down then. I used a long #1 screw extractor.

So I would like to ungang the carbs and dip them but the air jets have little rubber seals and are pressed in. Should I just not dip them?
