I have a 78 kz1000 a2, the air box is long gone and the bike has shitty emgo pods. Fired it up last night and will be getting it back on the road over the winter. I need to sort out an air box.
Cheers
Chris

Can you measure the holes that the air box rubbers go into and let me know the size of the hole, would be a big help.missionkz wrote: My 77' KZ1000 air cleaner assembly is off now and in my shop........ ?
I Don't have a stock air box and need to compare the holes on my breadbox to the stock box holes.

Hard to measure exactly but my guess is the diameter is about 49mm where they pass through the box. My guess is the rubbers are used back to front with the Abe box

I got close with a trying a set off my cb650 project bike, the air box rubbers fit in the breadbox but were a touch too big for the intake of the carbs. I'm giving myself three months to get the kz road worthy, the insurance on my cb750 is up in three months lol.
I'm hoping the stock ones fit, I have one for my cb750 I set up awhile back and the stock Honda air boots fit nicely. When set up properly the breadbox worked well for me.

@kaw-a-holic should work well once set up right with foam and proper taping, I've had one on my cb750 with good results. In fact I mean to re install it now that some unrelated trouble shooting is done. I took it off and went back to the stock box to eliminate it out of the equation.
Thanks again guys!
