'Dude, Fred Flintstone wants his carbs back'...

It occurred to me today, that maybe I ought to try a little harder to nail down these carbs identities, before I continue to throw money at them. They are Mikunis, and the numbers/letters stamped on the flanges is Z12, and this is over 00. Kind of like a fraction from hell :ohmy:
I measured the intake side of the carb throats and the I.D measured vertically is less than 27mm, and when measured from side to side, is approximately 26.6mm. The covers on the tops are three screw. Can anyone id these?

Also, they came (to me) with 117.5 main jet, which I left in, and 15 pilot jets that I changed to 17.5. The bike has the pods, and the four into one Vance and Hines exhaust.

Sounds like VM 26's. Came on KZ 900/1000. Good carbs but if you're going HP, you'll need bigger ones.

They are the factory 26mm carbs. If your bike only has the pipe and pods they will work fine. Even one up on cam and you will be fine. But like other person said.. They will eventually need to be changed to allow more air flow if you plan much more.

But I have been thinking about trying to source an airbox for it. I saw one on fleabay, from a 1981 KZ1000 J. Does anyone know if this will fit my 1978?

They look pretty good. Don't know about the box. Pics?

Looks like it will fit, the boots might be bigger.
