The pilot circuit does provide fuel/air mix through out the entire throttle movement. It just has the greatest effect at idle or just off idle before the other circuits in the carb take over.

Yes, everything affects everything, but when it comes to making any measurable effect, it does not. You can test it by changing the pilot and measuring the mixture at WOT. You will not see any difference in mixture at WOT.
I think people don't realize how little throttle they use when cruising on the highway. I think the 550 can sustain 60 mph at just over 1/16 throttle. In that range, the pilot still has some effect. By 1/4 throttle, at least on the TK22 carbs, you will not see any difference in the AFR with different pilots.

Yeah when looking at it like that it does have an affect through the whole range, though not anything measurable or adjustable in the big picture.

Lou no argument here. At WOT the pilot circuit has no real measurable effect on the air to fuel ratio. It was not intended to do so. As I see it, its real effect is at idle and just off of it. The only thing I was attempting to say was that it continues to provide what it provides throughout the entire throttle movement, it does not stop flowing whatever the mix is. It just keeps adding it.

I agree with what you're saying. I guess the point is, the chart is meant to convey the range of throttle position a particular adjustment will make a difference on. (And not really what range of throttle position a particular circuit is active.)
But, I see now, you are correct, based on the title of his chart. Note the title is different on mine.
