I have a second set of BS 34 carbs that came from a kz1000. I would like to keep these as a backup to my stock GPZ 750 carbs. I just had my original carbs cleaned, but I would like the keep the second set as insurance. While waiting for my original carbs to be cleaned, I used the KZ 1000 carbs to start the bike. the bike ran with these carbs but only with the choke on. I figure this may have been due to incorrect jetting. The bike ran steady but as I said only on 1/2 choke. The bike starts right up with the 1000 carbs but dies if I take the choke off, no matter how long it has run. SO... what are the correct jet sizes for a 1982 GPZ 750 with BS 34 carbs? are there other things to change to make them stock for GPZ 750?

It is likely that the jet needle also differs from what you have and what is in the KZ750R1...stock is 4BEO-4

Have you checked the pilot jets to see if they are clean?
