ZR550 CARBS ON A SPECTRE/GPZ550?

Has anyone had any experience putting a set of ZR550 carbs on a 1983/1984 550 Spectre or GPZ? The bike we have in the shop has TK carbs on it & parts are hard to find. Someone suggested putting the ZR550 carbs on it, what is involved in this swap?

Will the ZR550 carbs fit the GPZ/Spectre intake manifolds or do I have to replace the manifolds also? the air filter side of the carbs doesn't matter because we are running pod filters.

It's been done, but I only know of it being done for racing. Look for posts by Corey Clough, or try the Gpz550 forum. He is the guy to ask about the CV30's on a Kz/Zx motor. Sorry, I can't recall if the stock manifolds will stretch enough for the CV30's.

ZR550 carb spacing is slightly different, manifold rubbers will probably need changing.

The zr are semi flatslide, so in theory a better design than the older TK CV 's.
