hi guys im after an inline fuel filter they all seem to be plastic ,the problem is this ethanol doesint like plastic, what do you suggest i use

There are some fancy custom glass and chrome with a re-cleanable filter. The only problem being the strainer is bit coarse, similar to the strainer in the tank on the top of the fuel tap. Paper filters give better filtration but but can sometimes create their own problems in gravity feed non-efi applications., unless you get one specifically for bikes or garden machinery.

Here's what I use - no plastic. It not only filters great it also fits great - Golan Super-Mini (see 70-312G 5/16 Barbed Fittings in link) on mine. Take a look at the link below. It shows not just the filter but also the 90 degree elbow I use to prevent kinks and make a tidy fit between carbs and tank, clamps, and fuel line. Ed

I've been using bullet plastic clear filters for years. I bought two from Z1E but they were too big. I broke one and bought a smaller one at a dirt bike shop for $4.99. Most shops have them at this price. No problems with them.

I'm going with what 650Ed recomended.
It should also be said I have used Visu Vu filters for years without any problems. These were cheap chinese knock-offs.

And using the glass bodied ones, is even a worse solution. They break from vibration, and now all the gas needs is an ignition source. You'd think by now, the makers of the plastic fuel filters, would've found a material that resists Ethanol.

Aluminum-bodied fuel filters are available. Russell is one brand.
Some have brass elements which can be cleaned or replaced.

Not sure about vibration damage, the filters are pretty well rubber mounted it could be said.
Also the vacuum fuel tap shuts off when engine is stopped,

I had a glass in-line for years no probs, just I though the gauze 'filtration' a little too coarse, on the chrome and glass fancy custom thingy i had.

That's the problem. Ethinol is a scam by the Fed and big Farma. Nothing will happen if people just bitch and not vote.

I figure if the particles are small enough to get through the petcock screen then they will be small enough to pass through the carbs with out any problems :huh:

The sediments can collect in the bottom of the bowl, then be sucked up under hard acceleration. It's best to have them.
